We have a seasonal home in Breck and have dined at Ember multiple times. It is an absolute gem and completely worth every minute spent there. This is where the art of preparation, cooking, and presentation of food is truly magical. Chef/owner Scott is a culinary artist. His knowledge of food science, nutrition and diet is as good as any renown chef. We ate at Ember 3 times in a week as it is the best dining in Summit County. The appetizers, especially the lamb cheek tacos, the calamari stuffed with crab and the red neck salad topped with sorbet wowed us. We tried a different entree every night and the rib eye, buffalo, monk fish and chicken were wonderfully composed and just superb. We sat at the bar one evening to dine and noted how each dish was transformed into art in a fun, creative way. Every dish was a surprise for the senses and not just fabulous to taste. The wine pairings wooed us. The staff are highly educated and trained regarding wines and cocktails so could make excellent recommendations. Service was perfect; precise yet relaxed. It was apparent they enjoyed working at Ember and it showed in the way we, as well as all their guests, were treated from the personal greeting from Max (maître d) throughout the entire experience. The dining space (3 floors) is elegant with incredible art work and embellishments. The table space is more than adequate. At the end of dining, our servers were receptive to our request to see the entire restaurant and meet the chef despite it being a sold-out night. We wanted the innovative, genius chef to know our expectations are always high and each and every time we dined in they were all met. The kitchen was organized chaos and we definitely felt the energy of creativity as chef Scott and his talented team prepared masterpieces. Ember is one of the best dining experiences ever. Don’t miss it but make a reservation because it is a high demand restaurant. You may even be surprised to see a celebrity or two in there as well.
